James "J.B." Jones, 65, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2007, at E.M.H. Regional Medical Center, Elyria, following a lengthy illness. He was born September 17, 1941 in Spring City, TN and moved to Elyria at the age of 13.
J.B. served in the U.S. Army in communications during the Berlin Crisis. He was employed as a tow motor operator for General Motors before retiring. He was a member of the Oberlin Mason Lodge #380 and El Rey Grotto, and was also a past member of the Elyria Moose Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and being a grampa.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judith (nee Martin); daughters, Janet Hershberger (Charles) of Oberlin and Joyce Jones of Elyria; son, James D. Jones of Elyria; twelve grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; brother, Glen Jones of LA; sister, Sue Gould of Berlin Heights; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everil and Lillie Mae Jones; brothers, Carl and Claude Jones; and an infant sister.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second St. Elyria, from 1 to 4 P.M. Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Masonic and Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, September 12, at 11 A.M. Friends may begin to arrive at 10 A.M.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
