Victor R. Jackson, 44, of Elyria, passed away Monday, September 3, 2007, at EMH Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born April 11, 1963 in Elyria. He attended Brookside High School in Sheffield before moving to Detroit, MI. He has resided in Elyria for the past 20 years.
Victor was an avid sports enthusiast enjoying baseball and basketball. He was affiliated with the Cross Community Church in Elyria.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Loretta Jackson (nee Lewis); son, DeVaughn Hughes of TX; daughter, Victoria N. Jackson of Elyria; stepson, Michael Lewis; three grandchildren; parents, William Jackson of Sheffield, and Gloria Jackson of Detroit, MI; siblings, Damon Jackson of Detroit, MI, Toni L. Duncan (nee Jackson) of Elyria, Jacqueline O. Jackson of Detroit, MI, Kevin Jackson of Lorain, Adrienne Hoye (nee Jackson) of Ft. Wayne, IN, Dawn Jackson of Cincinnati, Richard Flowers; brother-in-law, Marcus Duncan; maternal grandfather, Harold Jackson of Elyria; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a maternal grandmother, Iola Harvey; paternal grandparents, Tommy and Wilmae Jackson.
Funeral Services will be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 614 W. River Road North, Elyria at 11 A.M. Friday, September 7, 2007. Reverend Marcettes Cunningham, Pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria. Friends may call at the church from 6 to 9 P.M. Thursday.
