Clarence Stanley Lockard, 79, of Grafton, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007, in Elyria Memorial Hospital Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born Friday, May 11, 1928 in Gassaway, W.Va., and had lived in Grafton since 1957.
Mr. Lockard was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force stationed in Panama, and worked at Ridge Tool Co. as a service technician for 40 years before his retirement in 1993.
He was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a member of LaGrange Masonic Lodge No. 399. He enjoyed hunting and helping many friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Patton of Grafton; his son, William Lockard of Amherst; one grandchild; three step-grandchildren; sisters, Jane Dahl of Nevada, Susan Cain of West Virginia, Karen Trail of Florida; brothers, Bob Lockard of Florida, Don Lockard and Jim Lockard both of West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Lockard, in 1990; parents, Guy and Elizabeth Lockard; and a sister, Edith Singleton.
The family will receive friends in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Mr. Lockard requested that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
