Bernice Marie Stephens (nee Pinkerton), 82, of Elyria, died at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, following a brief illness. Mrs. Stephens was born in Cleveland, on October 20, 1924, and lived in Elyria most of her life. Mrs. Stephens was employed by the Worthington Golf Ball Company in Elyria for many years as an assembler and also at Riverview Plaza in Elyria in the kitchen and dining room. She enjoyed watching golf, playing bingo, cooking, and traveling.
She is survived by one son, Keith (Amy) Stephens of Genoa; three daughters, Cynthia Pritt of Galloway, Donna Muetzel of Sheffield Lake, and Susan Stephens of Elyria; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Duale of Chardon, and Betty Bauza of Wickliffe.
Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband, Donald T. Stephens in 1978; one sister, Anna Pinkerton; and parents, William and Anna (nee Stepka) Pinkerton.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin-Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, at 11 A.M. in the funeral home with Sister Alice Marie Schmersal officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
