Doris Jones, 69, formerly of Elyria, and a resident of Lakeland, FL, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Lakeland with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born June 30, 1938 in Uhrichsville, OH.
Doris worked as a billing clerk at Amherst Hospital for 25 years before retiring to Florida. She enjoyed playing bridge as a member of the Lakeland Women's Bridge Club.
She leaves her husband, Herrldean Jones of Lakeland; son, Randy (Debbi) Johnson of Jefferson; daughters, Laurie (David) Mikita of Medina, and Karen (Dennis) Crabtree of MO; grandchildren, David and Timothy Johnson, Dana, Caitlin and Natalie Mikita, and Heather Crabtree; and one great-grandchild, Makenna Johnson.
Doris is also survived by her stepdaughters, Susan (Dan) Davis of Lakeland and DeAnn (Jeff) Moore of Akron; grandchildren, Shelby and Kristin Moore.
Friends may call Wednesday, August 15, 2007 from 7 to 9 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, where funeral services will be held Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 10 A.M. Rev. Charles Keesee, pastor of Midway Baptist Church in Elyria, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
