Mary Margaret Maxwell Dunham

Mary Margaret Maxwell Dunham (nee Knowles), 84, of Elyria, passed away Sunday morning, August 5, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 13, 1923 in LaGrange, and graduated from LaGrange High School, Class of 1941.
Mary worked for Bendix-Westinghouse in Elyria and the later was employed by the Elyria School System as the Secretary at Ely School. She was a 50+ year member at First United Methodist Church in Elyria where she was active in the Elizabeth Stevens Society and Stephens Ministry. She had a strong spiritual life and it was evident at home as in church and to all who knew her. She also enjoyed reading, geneology, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Warren Dunham; her children, Burton D. Maxwell Jr. (wife, Carol) of Elyria, Raymond Maxwell (wife, Gislhaine) of Deerfield Beach, FL, Robert Maxwell (wife, LaDonna) of Elyria, Philip Maxwell (wife, Joanne) of Strongsville, Jane Dunham (husband, Russ) of Grafton, John Dunham (wife, MaryAnn) of Farmington Hills, MI, and Nancy Holmes (husband, Rick) of Broadview Heights; a sister, Francie Baish (husband, Chelice) of Litchfield; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Burton D. Maxwell, Sr.; sisters, Wilhelmina Kolinski, Katherine Carmel and Harriette Wiggins; and her parents, William and Cora Knowles (nee Freeman).
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second St., Elyria, and 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at First United Methodist Church, 331 Third St., Elyria, where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Rev. Lowell Scheuffler, Assisting Pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Memorials my be forwarded to Hospice and Palliative Care Partners of Ohio, Special Care Services, 2500 E. 22nd St., Cleveland, OH 44115.
