Deloris S. "Dee" Balderson, 84, of Elyria, died July 27, 2007 at her home after a short illness. She was born March 25, 1923 in Glouster, OH. She was a 1941 graduate of Glouster High School and has been a resident of Elyria since 1964.
She worked for the former Piere R. Smith Investments., Elyria, as a bookkeeper for 15 years, retiring in 1982. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed her family and her grandchildren, who gave her the most enjoyment. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, cooking, crocheting and watching sporting events on T.V.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 54 years, Allan of Elyria; son, Barry A. (Mary) Balderson of Elyria; and daughter, Susan K. Elioff of Lakewood. Also surviving are grandchildren, Michael Pileski of Lorain, Melody Williams of Chicago, IL, Nicole Elioff of Lakewood, and Connor Balderson of Elyria; one great-grandson, Gavin Williams of Chicago; five very close nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews; 14 great-great-nieces and nephews as well as other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by brother, Fred Stansberry; and parents, Ira and Felda (nee Van Horn) Stansberry.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, 168 Morris Ave., Athens, OH; where the funeral will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster, OH and memorial contributions may be donated to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 424 Middle Ave., Elyria, OH 44035. Dicken Funeral Home, Elyria handled local arrangements.
