Lois C. Zieba

Lois C. Zieba, 90, of Westlake, formerly of Lorain, died Wednesday morning, July 18, 2007 at Harborside Healthcare in Westlake, following a brief illness. She was born on June 23, 1917 in Lorain. Miss Zieba moved from Lorain to Westlake where she had resided for the past 25 years.
She was a 1935B graduate of Lorain High School. She attended business college.
She was employed as a secretary for Bendix Corporation in Elyria. Miss Zieba was an executive secretary for the executive vice president of public relations and a succession of presidents of Society Bank on Public Square in Cleveland.  She was employed there for 40 years before she retired in 1977.
Miss Zieba was formerly a member of Nativity, Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Lorain. She formerly belonged to many professional societies-which included banking and professional secretary groups. Miss Zieba was a  member of St. Bernadette Church of Westlake.
Miss Zieba was an avid, very accomplished golfer. She was an avid football and baseball fan, especially the the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians.
Miss Zieba enjoyed ice skating and tennis in her younger years.
She is survived by her brothers, The Honorable Judge Joseph C. Zieba and Edward J. Zieba, both of Lorain; her sister, Joanne Zieba of Westlake; and many nieces and nephews.
Miss Zieba was preceded in death by her brother, Henry J. Zieba in 2001; her sisters, Helen Schultz in 1990 and Marion Hunter in 1963; her parents, Jacob Zieba in 1979 and Katherine (nee Kuszkiewica) Zieba in 1969.
Friends will be received on Friday, July 20, 2007 from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M. at the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Ave., Lorain. Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 9:30 A.M. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Nativity, Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain, with The Rev. Fr. David Novak of Holy Trinity Church, Lorain and The Rev. Mr. Robert Dybo, deacon of Nativity, B.V.M. Church, Lorain, con celebrating.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
