Amanda Marie White, 18, of New London, died Saturday, July 14, 2007 from injuries sustained in an automobile-train accident. She was born in Oberlin, and had been a life long area resident.
Amanda worked as a secretary for Denes Concrete Co. in Wellington, and two years at Dairy Queen in Wellington.
She graduated in 2006 from Wellington High School, where she was active with Future Farmers of America, band and was captain of the cheerleading team.
She was an EMT with the Rochester Fire Dept., and enjoyed four wheeling.
She leaves her parents, Robert Russell and Linda (nee Walter) at home; a brother, Robert Russell White III also at home; grandparents, Robert and Blanche White of New London; grandmother, Mary Jean Walter of Spencer; great-grandmother, Avea White of Wayne Co., WV; great -grandmother, Laura Reinders of Avon; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and her boyfriend, Todd Denes.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, George Walter and Andrew White; great-grandparents, Oscar and Leahe Barker, George and Marion Walter, and William Reinders. Friends may call Wednesday, July 18, 2007, 4 to 8 P.M. at Free Will Baptist Church, 205 Woodland St., Wellington, where Services will be Thursday at 10 A.M. Rev. Billy Joe White will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Rochester. Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria, OH 44035 is in charge of arrangements, and where memorial contributions may be sent in Amanda's memory.
