Allen John Williams, 72, of Lorain, died Tuesday afternoon, July 10, 2007, at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Williams was born October 28, 1934, in New Iberia, LA, and had resided in the Lorain area since 1957. He was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in New Iberia, LA where had once served as an altar boy. He was an U.A.W. member and had worked as a line feeder at the Lorain Ford Plant where he retired in 1994 after 36 years of service. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1957. He enjoyed gardening and playing with his pets. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed feeding the squirrels and other animals.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Alice Diane Williams (nee Dais); son, Christopher Niel Williams of Lorain; daughter, Sylvia Marie Arroyo of Lorain; brothers, Avery Williams of LA and Norris Williams, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Annie Mae Destonet of Los Angeles, CA; one granddaughter and 1 great-grandson; a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Celina (nee Baptiste) Williams.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 16, 2007 from 7 to 9 P.M. at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway in Lorain, where Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 1 P.M.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
