Catherine "Kay" C. Lauffer, (nee Ross), 87, of Elyria died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at her home following a brief illness. She was born in Elyria where she was a life long resident. Mrs. Lauffer worked at the former First National Bank as a teller for 16 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Bereavement Committee, and also volunteered in many other capacities at the Church. She enjoyed riding her bicycle and attending Elyria Catholic sporting events.
Survivors include daughter, Sharon (Ted) Blaszak of Elyria; son, Herbert C. Jr. (Darlene) of Elyria; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Agnes Christensen of Grafton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Clarence Sr. in 1999; and brothers, Frederick, Anthony, John, Daniel, George, and Edward Ross.
Friends may call today, Tuesday, from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, Chestnut Ridge Road at State Route 57, Elyria, where members of the St. Jude Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3:30 P.M. and Wednesday from 9 until a 10 A.M. Mass in the Chapel at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. The Rev. Frank Kosem, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
