Lee Andrew Dumas, 67, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 11, 2007 at Lorain Community Health Partners. Mr. Dumas was born September 15, 1939 in Madison, Georgia and had lived in Lorain since 1960.
He was a member of Greater St. Matthew A.M.E. Church, Lorain, where he served as a Trustee and was a member of the UAW Local 2000. He was employed as a tug driver with Ford Motor Company, retiring from the Avon plant, Local 2000, after 30 years of service. He was a very sociable person who enjoyed fishing and being with family and friends. He also loved keeping a beautiful, well-manicured lawn and keeping his cars shined.
He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 47 years, Ivory Dumas (nee Franklin); son, Kenneth Lee Dumas of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Gina L. Gilbert of Coppers Cove, TX; brother, Frank Dumas Jr. of Greenboro, GA; four grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Mr. Dumas was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Janie Dumas Sr.; and brother, Willie Henry Dumas.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 15, 2007 from 12:00 until time of service at 1 P.M. at Greater St. Matthew A.M.E. Church, 1909 W 24th Street, Lorain. Rev. Dr. John Newby, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. Arrangements by Brown-Robinson Funeral Home.
