Edward J. Landin, 64, of Oberlin, passed away early Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at EMH Regional Medical Center after a four year battle with cancer, and recently suffering from a major heart attack. Mr. Landin retired from General Motors after 34 years of service. He served in the US Army, and was a 32nd Degree Mason, belonging to the Vermilion Lodge No. 424. Edward was also a member of the Scottish Rites.
He took great pleasure in being with his cats and caring for them. No words can describe the great emptiness he leaves among his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Eleanor; stepdaughter, Vickie; stepson, David; brothers, Michael (Judy) Landin, Paul (Debbie) Landin; sister, Kathleen (Bill) Strait; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lois (nee Butera) Landin Sr.; brother, George Landin; nephew, James Edward.
Friends may call Friday, June 8, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Rd., Sheffield Township, where Services will be Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 11 A.M. Associate pastor, Chuck Livermore of Kipton Community Church will officiate. Interment will be in Camden Cemetery, Camden Township. The Disabled American Veterans Post 20 of Lorain will conduct military honors.
