Naomi L Thomas (nee Reichert), 83, formerly of Amherst, died Wednesday, May 30 2007 at Wesley Glen, Columbus, after a long illness. She was born August 13, 1923 in Lorain and lived her entire life in Amherst, until moving to make her home with her daughter in Westerville in 2002. Mrs. Thomas was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Amherst. She was a 1941 graduate of Amherst High School. During World War II she worked for the department of the Navy in Washington D.C. For twenty years she was a key punch supervisor at the Technical Center of B.F. Goodrich, Avon Lake, retiring in 1985. Her hobbies included crocheting and sewing doll clothes for family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards at the Amherst Eagles, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Her memberships include, Amherst Eagles Aerie 1442 Auxiliary and the B.F. Goodrich Retirees Club.
Survivers include one son, Dana J. (Rita) Thomas of Apache Junction, AZ; two daughters, Kathy A. (Richard) Price of Mansfield and Dr. Karen M. (William Seratt) Thomas; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a brother, Rolland "Dick" Reichert of Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Ralph Thomas (1982); her parents Elmer and Anna Mulder Reichert; sisters, Elaine Muniga and Joyce Clippinger; and brothers, Elmer Reichert Jr. and Robert Reichert.
Family will receive friends at the Garland Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst on Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. The funeral service will be 10 A.M. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Pemberton, Pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
