Ida M. Talbot (nee Kendra), 92, of Elyria, died Monday, May 21, 2007 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph Residential Center in Lorain following a brief illness. She was born December 18, 1914 in Chester, PA and was a Elyria resident since 1955. She was employed as a secretary at the Elyria United Methodist Home for many years. Mrs. Talbot was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria, the Avon V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, the Elyria United Polish Club Ladies Auxiliary and was a former Board of Elections booth worker. She enjoyed traveling, reading, going to casinos, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Dolores Whitaker of North Ridgeville; sons, Peter Filiaggi of Ashland, James Filiaggi Sr. of Elyria, and Thomas Filiaggi Sr. of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard B. Talbot; sister, Winifred McCaulley; brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Paul, and Frank Kendra; grandsons, Thomas M. Filiaggi Jr. and James J. Filiaggi Jr.
There will be a Celebration of Ida's life to be held Sunday, June 3, 2007 from 2 to 6 P.M. at Wiley's, 518 West Main Street (State Rt. 113), South Amherst. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road, Elyria.
