The Lorain County commissioners, all three of whom dealt with flooded homes this week, on Wednesday urged county residents affected by the storms to contact the county to report their problems.
Those contacts are needed, county Administrator Jim Cordes said, in order to accurately record the number of flooded homes the county can report to the state. The higher the damage numbers, he said, the better chance the county can be declared a disaster area and be eligible for relief funds.
“We need them to complain a little bit,” Cordes said.
Commissioner Lori Kokoski said residents who need to report flooding and other storm damage should call (440) 329-5117.
