Actor Bill Irwin to give performance at Oberlin College


OBERLIN — Actor and theatrical clown Bill Irwin will return to his alma mater Sunday for a lecture and performance.

The lecture is 7:30 p.m. at Oberlin College’s Finney Chapel. A 1973 graduate of Oberlin College, Irwin has appeared in numerous television shows and movies. He was an original member of the Pickle Family Circus and appeared in “Rachel Getting Married,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “The Cosby Show” and “Sesame Street.” He also received a Tony award in 2005 for his theatrical performance in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”

Sunday’s program is sponsored by OCircus!, the theater department, the dance department, the president’s office and Oberlin Student Theater Association.

The program is free to the public. No tickets are needed.
