LORAIN — Councilwoman Anne Molnar, D-at large, is unsure if she will attend her last scheduled meeting on Dec. 16.
The 86-year-old Molnar, who missed Monday’s meeting, said Tuesday she has been hospitalized at EMH Elyria Medical Center since Nov. 26 after having trouble keeping her balance while walking.
“I was walking like a drunken sailor,” Molnar said. “I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me.”
Until an Aug. 18 car crash when Molnar said she blacked out behind the wheel, Molnar, a seven-term councilwoman, had seldom missed a meeting.
Molnar said the blackout was due to aortic valve stenosis, a narrowing of the heart valve that obstructs blood flow.
She had a heart procedure in September.
Molnar served four terms from 1998 through 2005 before being defeated in 2005. She retook office in 2010 and will complete her term Dec. 31 after being defeated in the May primary.
