AVON LAKE — A large sign reportedly fell on two spectators at the Avon Lake football game Friday night.
According to the Avon Lake Fire Department, at 7:03 p.m. a medical unit that was on standby assignment at Avon Lake High School for the football game. The unit was informed by bystanders that “a male had fallen on the east side of the field.”
An additional EMS unit was requested at the same location for another injured male, according to a news release.
Upon arrival, units located the 8-by-10-foot sign near the east side of the football field.
“(The sign) had been knocked over by the wind and onto the victims,” the report stated.
The two victims, whose names were not released, were treated and transported to the Avon Cleveland Clinic Emergency Department for evaluation without incident.
