Country music singer Keith Urban’s concert at Blossom Music Center has been rescheduled for Sunday, after weather prevented the headliner from making Thursday’s night show.
Urban was stuck at a New York airport, where planes had been grounded all afternoon because of lightning, Urban said in a video apology posted to YouTube at 10:20 p.m. Thursday.
"We're at the airport, and have been here for hours and hours, waiting to take off," Urban said in the video.
Concertgoers saw performances from openers Dustin Lynch and Little Big Town before waiting in the rain for Urban to take the stage.
Urban has rescheduled the concert for 7:30 p.m. Sunday, and promised to do all he could to make it up to fans.
"We're going to play way longer than we would have tonight," Urban said in the video. "We're so sorry we're stuck here."
Urban is expected to perform songs that haven't been played before on the "Light the Fuse" tour, according to his website.
Those not able to make the rescheduled show will be eligible for a full refund, according to the website. Information regarding the refund policy will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m. Monday.
Fans should hold on to their tickets for admittance to the rescheduled show, according to Blossom's Facebook Page. Posts on the page said rain-soaked tickets would be accepted. No other information regarding tickets for the rescheduled show has been made available.
Urban’s wife, Nicole Kidman, was struck by a bicycle messenger in New York City Thursday afternoon, according to The Associated Press. Kidman said she was shaken up but otherwise OK after the incident. She appeared Thursday night on the red carpet celebrating Francisco Costa's 10th anniversary as the women's creative director of the Calvin Klein Collection.
