NORTH RIDGEVILLE — One of two men being sought for a weekend break-in at a tire store has turned himself in to police.
Jeffrey Pajer, 32, of Lorain, surrendered to police at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Police Lt. Greg Petek.
Pajer was charged with one count of breaking and entering for the Sept. 7 overnight break-in at A&C Tire on Center Ridge Road, just east of the North Ridgeville-Elyria border.
Pajer turned himself in after officers contacted him based on tips they received about his identity from residents who saw pictures captured by a security camera in the local media and on the Police Department’s Facebook page.
Pajer admitted in a statement to police that he was the man seen on store video stealing beer and liquor from a store cooler, Petek said.
Police do not believe Pajer was involved in three recent break-ins at Sebastian’s Bar on Center Ridge Road, Petek said. They believe that suspect is Tyler J. Ellis, 29, who was with Pajer during the A&C Tire break-in, Petek said.
A warrant has been issued for Ellis, who originally is from North Ridgeville but moved to Lorain at some point, that charges him with four counts of breaking and entering and three counts of criminal damaging, Petek said.
Ellis was the suspect in the A&C security footage who wore glasses and was holding items, including cigarettes at the store’s front counter area, Petek said.
Sebastian’s, which is several hundred feet behind A&C Tire off Center Ridge Road in the building long occupied by the Katina Lake club, was broken into twice the night of July 31 and again Aug. 28.
“The damage he caused smashing out windows to gain entry amounted to far more than the products he stole,” Petek said.
Anyone with any information on Ellis’ whereabouts is asked to call police at (440) 327-2191.
