Elyria, Lorain blotter: Boy, 15, allegedly writes threats to girl's father on Facebook

Friday, Aug. 30

  • 9:09 a.m. - Police Department, 18 West Ave., a man said a 15-year-old boy who is a classmate of his 15-year-old daughter at Elyria High School wrote a Facebook message to him saying the boy had beaten his daughter in the past and planned to kill her. The girl told her father the boy had slapped and punched her in the face. The school said the boy has been suspended and the father said he planned to file an aggravated menacing charge against the boy.
  • 7:30 a.m. - 100 block Kennybrook Lane, a resident said someone slashed the tires on her Ford Ranger overnight.
  • 8:10 a.m. - 200 block Stonehedge Drive, a resident said while she was sleeping, someone burglarized her home stealing a purse and iPad. The screens to the lower windows, which the woman said she left open in the sun room, were cut, police said.
  • 12:40 p.m. - Police Department, 18 West Ave., a man said someone stole his wallet, which he had left in his car parked in his driveway overnight. He said the wallet contained $80 and debit cards.

Saturday, Aug. 31

  • 1 a.m. - Chestnut and Broad streets, Judith Sheppard, 50, 200 block Fifth St., Elyria, arrested and charged with drunken driving, driving with a suspended license, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sheppard was seen driving the wrong way on Chestnut Street and failed a field sobriety test, according to police who said she admitted to drinking. Sheppard also had an object with small amounts of cocaine residue on it, police said.
  • 1:52 a.m. - 100 block Erie St., Sean L. Brown, 37, 400 block Jefferson St., Elyria, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Brown returned to the neighborhood where his girlfriend was and yelled at her after being told to leave the area by police, officers said. They said Brown resisted being handcuffed and had to be wrestled to the ground.

Saturday, Aug. 31

  • 1:28 p.m. - 700 block W. 22nd St., a resident said her Dodge Durango parked in her driveway overnight was burglarized with the front window smashed. She said a $300 stereo, $300 television and a $50 GPS were stolen.
