NEW RUSSIA TWP. — After a $15 million upgrade to its facility over the winter, Republic Services has expanded the materials most Lorain County residents will be able to recycle.
According to Dave Kidder, Republic's area municipal services manager, residents served by Republic can now recycle plastic containers numbered 3 through 7 in addition to No. 1 and No. 2 plastics as well as cardboard items, such as paper board, cereal boxes and juice boxes.
Residents can recycle newspapers, glass, plastics, cans and cardboards by placing them in their designated recycling containers, if they are provided in their community, or blue bags, Kidder said.
Kidder said most plastic containers will have their number on the container's bottom, located near the recycle triangle.
