Wednesday, April 24

7:27 p.m. — 100 block West Ave., a man told police a laptop that was sent to his old home was stolen after a mix-up through FedEx. Police said it was reported that the laptop was pawned at a shop.

Thursday, April 25

1:13 a.m. — Kerstetter Way, Donte Griffin cited for speed, driving under suspension and no seat belt. A passenger, Emmanual Ingram, 26, arrested on a warrant through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. Another passenger in the vehicle with a valid driver’s license was allowed to drive the vehicle home.

4:40 a.m. — 400 block E. River St., a woman called police to ask that an officer search for her cell phone, which she dropped while boarding a train at the Elyria Amtrak stop. Police found the phone next to a parked car in the parking lot.

Thursday, April 18

12:10 a.m. — 80 block Church St., woman complained that someone entered her vehicle and stole various items.

Saturday, April 20

1:30 a.m. — Taylor Boulevard, officers observed several vehicles had been egged.

10:55 p.m. — 200 block U.S. Grant St., resident stated someone rang their doorbell, but when they answered the door, no one was there.

Sunday, April 21

5 a.m. — LaGrange Police Station, resident brought a teenager to the Police Department. The man advised that the teen arrived at his residence and he was lost. The teen told officers he had left his home in Spencer the night before and rode his bike to Elyria. Contact was made with the parents, who arrived at the station and took their son home.

7:47 p.m. — North Center Street, Luke Coleman, 24, Ashland, charged with DUI, DUI over the limit, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and open container. Cody Roberts, 20, Ashland, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana after a traffic stop.

Tuesday, April 16

4:50 p.m. — Railroad Street, a resident stated that a silver van is parked on the street by Railroad Street and it’s a safety issue because it makes it difficult to pull onto Main Street. The man also stated the vehicle is parked there all day.

5:04 p.m. — 1000 block Washington Drive, a woman complained of residents parking their vehicles on the street and now the mail carrier will not deliver their mail when vehicles are parked there.

6:17 p.m. — 1000 block Greenwich Ave., a pizza delivery man requested assistance after he locked himself out of his vehicle while making a delivery.

Thursday, April 18

11:38 p.m. — Sunshine Court, resident heard shots being fired near Reservoir Park.

Friday, April 19

4:59 p.m. — 900 block Oak St., a resident requested an officer check on a deer that was in his yard that was either sick or injured.

Sunday, April 21

11:09 a.m. — 900 block Oak St., a man reported that a woman has been “intoxicated for days” and that she was hitting him last night and is out of control. The woman was transported to EMH Elyria Medical Center.

5:23 p.m. — 1000 block Hunter’s Chase, a woman advised that her husband was planting a tree and hit a gas line. She called because they both were able to smell gas.

9:41 p.m. — Timber Ridge, improper use of a garbage bin. Officers learned it was an employee.

Monday, April 22

12:15 a.m. — Grafton Police Station, a woman called from Elk Grove, Calif., who was very paranoid and began citing conspiracies in reference to abductions/molestations of her daughter involving police, IRS, secret service and the first lady. She claimed they were being held against their will somewhere with a former employer. Another police officer spoke with the woman and she hung up when questioned about her location.
