2 people injured in I-90 crash

SHEFFIELD — Two people were injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 90 west about 1 mile past the Colorado Avenue exit around 3:15 a.m. Sunday.

The occupants had to be extricated by firefighters, according to Capt. Rodney Meadows of the Avon Fire Department, which assisted the Sheffield Fire Department. Meadows said his department transported the 20-year-old male driver, whom he didn’t identify. He said the man suffered a scalp injury and was later flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

Meadows said he didn’t have any information on the passenger, who he said was taken to a hospital by Sheffield firefighters.

A firefighter at the Sheffield department and a Sheffield police dispatcher said they had no information on the crash.
