ELYRIA — A man on the U.S. Marshals' "Dangerous Dozen" most-wanted list was arrested overnight in Elyria.
According to Marshals, Bruce McElroy, 31, was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. at an apartment in the 800 block of Rosewood Avenue.
McElroy, who has a history of violence, had been wanted for several months for failure to register as a sex offender. He was added to the Dangerous Dozen list in November.
"Numerous tips poured in from the community at that time, but none were able to lead the task force directly to McElroy," according to Marshals.
A tip this week turned out to be what the task force needed, however, Marshals said. McElroy was taken to the Lorain County Jail following his arrest.
“The citizens of Lorain County have continued to assist our task force with tracking down these violent offenders," U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said in a news release. "Working together, we can make a difference in the community.”
