ELYRIA — A Vermilion man who pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an attack on his wife’s alleged lover was sentenced Monday to two years of probation.
Ronald Wallace, 48, pleaded guilty to burglary and aggravated assault charges last year. An additional charge of domestic violence was dropped as part of the plea deal in the case.
Sheffield police reported that Wallace broke into a house and attacked the man, whom he reportedly found with his wife on Jan. 9, 2011. An attorney for Wallace’s wife has denied that his client was partially clothed at the time.
The wife allegedly tried to shoot Wallace after he began attacking the man and later began hitting her husband with the gun, police said.
