The driver who police said caused a three-vehicle crash Friday on state Route 113 was in critical condition Monday afternoon at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
Michael Durkalec was westbound in a Subaru Forester on Route 113 when he attempted to pass a dump truck turning left into a private driveway near the intersection of Gifford Road around 6:15 p.m., police said. Durkalec sideswiped the truck and collided head-on with an eastbound Ford F-150 driven by Brent Liembach.
Liembach, 33, of Amherst, received serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to Trooper Shawn Kline of the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Elyria post. Truck driver Timothy O’Brien, 43, of Wakeman, was uninjured. Kline said Durkalec, 41, of Wakeman, may face charges over the crash.
