Noon. — 200 block W. 30th St., Rafael Diaz, 35, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct persisting and resisting arrest. Police said Diaz had made strange, threatening comments to two boys walking by Little Caesar’s, and when questioned, Diaz was uncooperative and struggled with officers. Diaz’s father said Diaz has a mental disorder and is prone to violent outbursts but is generally a controlled person.
Monday, Dec. 24
10:26 p.m. — 1300 block Reid Ave., reported home burglary. Police said the burglar had gotten past the homeowner’s dog, indicating that the dog may have known the person.
Tuesday, Dec. 25
2:26 a.m. — Lake Point Health Care, 3364 Kolbe Road, nursing staff said they were treating a 22-year-old suicidal woman who swallowed lotion, attempted to swallow a Christmas ornament and slammed her head against a wall. She was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center for psychiatric treatment.
10:07 a.m. — 300 block W. 35th St., theft of Christmas presents and a laptop from an unlocked vehicle.
11:20 a.m. — 1800 block E. 32nd St., an ambulance was sent to treat a teenager who had injured his hand during a fight with his brother. Police said the boy punched a glass window, causing his hand to bleed extensively.
3:08 p.m. — 2100 block E. 31st St., theft of presents and electronics during a home burglary. A resident of the burglarized home said he noticed a black man, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, walking slowly on the street near his home before the burglary, and he believed the man was casing houses.
7:35 p.m. — 1900 block W. 23rd St., theft of two mermaid dolls from a locked vehicle. The vehicle’s owner said his children placed the dolls in the car before they went to visit relatives. The dolls were the only items reported stolen, and the vehicle was still locked.
8:14 p.m. — 2200 block E. 30th St., theft of Garmin GPS from a Time Warner work van. Police said the van’s window had been broken.
Monday, Dec. 24
4:06 p.m. — 200 block Park Meadow Drive, resident said rear window of her car shot with a B.B. gun and she suspects a neighbor.
8:34 p.m. — 600 block S. Abbe Road, resident said her home was broken into through the unlocked front door on Thursday with about $1,120 in jewelry stolen and 20 Xanax pills stolen. The woman said she waited four days to report the alleged burglary because she was distraught and needed a police report to get more pills.
7:36 p.m. — 200 block 16th St., police said they found the rear window of a residence shattered, but no one home. Neighbors said they saw three men carrying two televisions in the area. The TVs may have come from the home.
10:50 p.m. — 200 block 15th St., resident said she left her home at 1 p.m. and returned at 10:45 p.m. to find the rear window to the residence smashed out. She called police rather than entering the home. The woman reported a DVD player, a Kindle, jewelry, shoes, three televisions and two watches with a total value of at least $3,000 were stolen.
