Sunday, Dec. 23
12:33 a.m. — 1700 block Reid Ave., parents of a 19-year-old said he ran at full speed and rammed his head into a door. They said he was shaking and flailing and rapidly blinking his eyes. Police said the youth told them demons were causing his behavior and later said he had smoked about 2.5 grams of Spice, a synthetic marijuana.
2:11 p.m. — 1900 block W. 23rd St., resident said a window to her back door was broken and three computers, an iPad, two cameras and Christmas gifts with a total value of $6,699 were stolen. Police said the door to the master bedroom was kicked in.
10:18 p.m. — 3900 block Reid Ave., resident said someone attempted to break into his trailer home by pushing in a side door and breaking a door lock. The resident suspects a neighbor.
11:35 p.m. — 1400 block W. 23rd St., resident said home burglarized with a brick thrown through a side door and a $150 computer and $40 in cash stolen. The resident said as he was leaving his home around 9:55 p.m., he saw two men walk past his home and look at him suspiciously as he drove away. One man was described as black and bald with a goatee, about 6-foot-2 with a medium build. The second man was described as about 5-foot-8 with a medium build and wearing a white, hooded sweatshirt with designs.
11:44 p.m. — Leavitt Road and West 40th Street, police said a man who was running into traffic told them he recently had a friend die and was attempting suicide. He was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center for psychiatric treatment.
Monday, Dec. 24
12:56 a.m. — 1100 block W. Eighth St., resident said his rear door framing and knob were broken in an attempted burglary.
3:20 a.m. — 3600 Beavercrest Drive, Melissa M. Ortiz, 26, same address, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication and persistent disorderly conduct. Ortiz is accused of being belligerent and profane in the emergency room of Mercy Regional Medical Center after her boyfriend told police she threatened to commit suicide with pills.
5:12 a.m. — 300 block Oberlin Ave., resident said she was sleeping on the floor of her apartment when she woke up to find a man who her roomate briefly dated three years ago standing over her. She said she ran upstairs and he fled out the front window. The roomate said the man has broken into the apartment before and occasionally calls threatening to do it again. Video games and a phone with a total value of $1,000 were stolen.
10:03 a.m. — 2400 block E. 31st St., worker for owner of vacant property said he found the back window of the home pried open and copper piping worth $700 stolen from the basement.
11:58 a.m. — 2300 block Sunset Blvd., woman whose apartment was burglarized on Saturday said someone re-entered the apartment on Sunday or early Monday and ransacked it, but nothing was missing.
2:02 p.m. — Police Department, 100 W. Erie Ave., resident said someone stole his wallet from his car which was parked in the driveway of his home in the 3000 block of Amherst Ave.
4:27 p.m. — 500 block W. 15th St., neighbor said she saw two men with a cart attached to a bicycle burglarize a shed of about $100 worth of shingles.
6:03 p.m. — 500 block E. Erie Ave., resident said he was talking to himself on his porch when a man came up on the porch and told him to shut up and punched him about a dozen times when the resident refused to shut up. The resident said the man also struck him with a stick on the leg, stomach and mouth. Police said the leg injury appeared old.
7:02 p.m. — 4200 block Oakcrest Drive, resident said he left Christmas gifts of $280 in perfume and $20 in lottery tickets in his car unsecured in his driveway around 1 p.m. and discovered they were stolen around 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 25
2:26 a.m. — Lake Point Health Care, 3364 Kolbe Road, nursing staff said they were treating a 22-year-old suicidal woman who swallowed lotion, attempted to swallow a Christmas ornament and slammed her head against a wall. She was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center for psychiatric treatment.
Monday, Dec. 24
4:06 p.m. — 200 block Park Meadow Drive, resident said rear window of her car shot with a B.B. gun and she suspects a neighbor.
8:34 p.m. — 600 block S. Abbe Road, resident said her home was broken into through the unlocked front door on Thursday with about $1,120 in jewelry stolen and 20 Xanax pills stolen. The woman said she waited four days to report the alleged burglary because she was distraught and needed a police report to get more pills.
7:36 p.m. — 200 block 16th St., police said they found the rear window of a residence shattered, but no one home. Neighbors said they saw three men carrying two televisions in the area. The TVs may have come from the home.
10:50 p.m. — 200 block 15th St., resident said she left her home at 1 p.m. and returned at 10:45 p.m. to find the rear window to the residence smashed out. She called police rather than entering the home. The woman reported a DVD player, a Kindle, jewelry, shoes, three televisions and two watches with a total value of at least $3,000 were stolen.
Monday, Dec. 17
5:59 p.m. — Wellington Police Department, request for assistance with child custody issue.
Wednesday, Dec. 19
8:23 p.m. — 100 block East St., theft from vehicle parked in garage. Several items that were reported stolen were found the next day.
Friday, Dec. 21
8:31 p.m. — 300 block Prospect St., neighbor dispute.
