Police say man exposed himself to girl walking home from school

LORAIN — A Lorain man who was suspected of exposing himself to several women in the past was arrested Tuesday after it was reported that he flashed a young girl who was walking home from school.

Juan Zamarripa-Gonzalez, 23, was arrested and charged with public indecency exposure. He is set to be arraigned in Lorain Municipal Court at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Police said Zamarripa-Gonazlez exposed his genitals to a young girl who was walking home from school in the 1600 block of East 32nd Street. A police report did not list the age of the alleged victim.

The girl told police a man walked past her, pulling up his jacket to expose his genitals. She said the man either had his pants open or pulled down. He then continued to walk eastbound on Globe Avenue, according to a police report.

According to the report, the man matched a description of Zamarripa-Gonzalez, who police said had exposed himself to at least three other females. Zamarripa-Gonzalez was convicted of public indecency for an incident on Dec. 27, 2011, and again in March.

After pleading no contest in August to charges relating to an incident on March 16, Zamarripa-Gonzalez was sentenced to 10 days in jail and ordered to pay fines.

On Tuesday, police met with Zamarripa-Gonzalez’s girlfriend, who told police he was living with her and her three children. She knew Zamarripa-Gonzalez had been accused of public indecency in the past, according to the report, and said he was at his mother’s house.

Officers arrested Zamarripa-Gonzalez later at his home when the girl identified him as the perpetrator. He was arrested and taken to Lorain City Jail.
