BROWNHELM TWP. — Remains of a dead body were found this morning as rescue crews were sent to Gore Orphanage and Sperry roads to extinguish a car fire.
At 6:17 a.m., the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Vermilion Fire Department, was sent to the secluded area, known as Swift’s Hollow. When crews arrived, they found a smoldering vehicle with human remains in it.
According to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office, foul play is not suspected, but the incident is under investigation.
The name of the deceased person is not being released at this time, pending positive identification and notification to the family.
