LORAIN — An Elyria man was shot outside a bar in South Lorain over the weekend, according to police.
Aaron Jackson, 21, was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center and then transferred to another hospital, according to a police report. His condition was not immediately available.
Police arrived in the area of East 28th Street and Pearl Avenue near Brickhouse Bar to find a chaotic scene as crowds emptied out of the bars near closing time. They found Jackson lying on his side and bleeding in the middle of Pearl Avenue about 2:15 a.m. Sunday, the report said.
Police spoke with Jackson's mother and his sister at the hospital, both of whom identified a possible shooter. Police couldn't be reached to say if any arrests had been made in the shooting.
Police located four 9 mm casings in the eastern-most doorway of 1810 E. 28th St., the report said.
Officers arrested Robert L. Walton III, 27, after he refused multiple police orders to leave the scene and continued to agitate the crowd, the report said. A juvenile male was also summonsed to court after he was taken into custody and gave officers incorrect information about his identity, the report said.
