LORAIN — Tom Tucker is expected to be named new Lorain Schools superintendent on Thursday.
A special Board of Education meeting will be 7 p.m. in Room 33 of the Charleston Administration Center.
Tucker, Sandusky Schools superintendent since 2010, is a Lorain native who worked for Lorain Schools from 1980 to 2008. Tucker, 56, spent 23 years as a band and orchestra director in Lorain as well as four years as Admiral King High School principal and a year as a human resource director.
Tucker, who is expected to earn about $150,000 annually, would take over as superintendent in about two weeks.
A contract was finalized Saturday, according to board member Mitchell Fallis, chairman of the Superintendent Search Committee.
“We’re anxious to get this thing done and get Tom Tucker in the fold,” Fallis said. “Everybody’s pretty excited.”show
