1:30 p.m. — 230 N. Abbe Road. Jason Bright, 35, of Elyria charged with theft after store security reportedly stopped the man trying to leave Apples supermarket without paying for $13.97 in merchandise that included a bottle of vodka, a cheese log and hot dogs. Police said he concealed the items in his clothing.
2:55 p.m. — Woman said she was warned by a man she only knew by first name that members of the Bloods gang plan to shoot up her brother’s home in the 200 block of Seventh Street today.
4:18 p.m. — Ely Stadium on West Avenue. An Elyria City Schools employee reports the theft of a $500 hand fuel pump removed from an above-ground fuel tank in a storage area.
Saturday, July 28
6:15 a.m. — 1300 block Middle Ave., resident said someone broke into her car parked in her driveway overnight and stole a bottle of her prescribed metronidazole, an antibiotic drug. A $10 toolbox was also stolen.
9:30 a.m. — Police Department. 100 West Ave., man reported wallet stolen overnight from his car that he left unlocked parked outside his home. Man later called and said he found wallet while walking home, but the driver’s license and his Social Security card were stolen.
12 p.m. — Police Department, 100 West St., man said someone stole the catalytic converter, an oxygen sensor and piping from his 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe while it was parked in the 100 block of Reaser Court on Monday. The man said he realized what happened after taking his truck to a mechanic.
12:02 p.m. — 1100 block Middle Ave., resident said she heard noise downstairs and found two men running out of her home with her $200 computer. Police said they found a bicycle on the lawn that may have been used by one of the perpetrators.
4:48 p.m. — EMH Medical Center, 630 East River St., woman reported her 81-year-old father, who suffers from mental illness. The man was later found walking on state Route 57 between East Broad Street and Chesnut Ridge.
Saturday, July 28
12:27 a.m. — 900 block Brownell Ave., $75 bicycle stolen from resident’s yard. A neighbor said she witnessed two teenage boys steal the bike and notified police.
2:02 a.m. — 3600 block Clifton Ave., Anthony Moore, 46, 3500 block Albany Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with violation of a temporary protection order. Police said they found Moore in the same room as the woman who has a protection order against him. The woman’s son called about the two arguing loudly in his home.
2:40 a.m. — 1900 block E. 30th St., resident reported home burglarized between 8 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. with entry gained by air conditioner being pushed inside window. Two watches and a television with total value of $1,000 were stolen.
Friday, July 27
9:44 a.m. — 35000 block Royalton Road, Grafton, James Clark, same address, charged with domestic violence. Clark’s 22-year-old brother said Clark repeatedly shoved him after he told Clark to take out garbage after he said Clark made a mess in the garage. The brother, who police said had a cut thumb, said he injured his thumb while being shoved. Clark, who police said had two prior domestic violence convictions, denied touching his brother and said his brother threw rocks at him.
6:47 p.m. —42000 block Adelbert St., Elyria Township, 15-year-old boy, same address, charged with burglary. The boy admitted to breaking into a neighbor’s home and stealing a bullets, a holster, knives and a semiautomatic pistol, according to police.
