LORAIN — Sandusky Schools Superintendent Tom Tucker is the choice of Board of Education members be the new Lorain Schools superintendent.
Board of Education member Jim Smith said today that Tucker’s 27 years working for the district was a major factor in why he supported Tucker over Stephen Stohla, a former Alliance Schools and Brookfield Schools superintendent who, like Tucker, grew up in Lorain.
Board members decided on Tucker in a closed door meeting Tuesday.
Board members have not formally made a contract offer to Tucker, but Smith said he expects an offer will be made and formally voted at the board’s July 26 meeting.
