Friday, June 22

8:11 p.m. — 3000 block Marie Ave., a man reported that he was in the Valero Gas Station parking lot, talking on his iPhone, when an 18- to 20-year-old man forcibly took his phone and fled. The victim’s mother was able to track the phone’s location, and police said the phone was later found hidden in a bush on West 30th Street.

Monday, June 25

5:30 p.m. — 2400 block Homewood Drive, a man told police he woke up at his girlfriend’s residence when he heard a noise. He said he noticed the back screen window was open, and his wallet, house and car keys and an Xbox were missing. A neighbor reported that around 5:15 p.m., she noticed a light-skinned black male, about 5-foot-6, wearing a camouflage shirt, khaki shorts and a Spider-Man or Superman backpack. She said the man ran through her front yard and through several other yards on the block.

7:07 p.m. — 2600 block Fairless Drive, reported break-in. Police said a suspect took a Canon digital camera and entered through a window.

Tuesday, June 26

8:34 a.m. — 5400 block Beavercrest Drive, reported theft and criminal damaging of Fox Creek Golf Course.

11:40 a.m. — 2000 block E. 29th St., Angelo Jiemenez, 20, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence knowingly causing harm. Jiemenez’s niece said Jiemenez punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground, and then hit her in the head with a coffee pot. Jiemenez told police he slapped the woman and hit her with a coffee pot because he was mad.

12:42 p.m. — 1400 block W. 34th St., Cashmere A. Patterson, 20, homeless, arrested and charged with breaking and entering. A man said he returned home to find Patterson leaving his garage and saw that his bicycle had been moved.

1:30 p.m. — 300 block W. Sixth St., Jermaine M. Burgess, 20, 1400 block of Herbert Drive, issued a summons for petty theft. Police said Burgess stole a “Yu-Gi-Oh” DVD from the Lorain Public Library.

1:48 p.m. — 4400 block Maple Road, reported breaking and entering of a shed.

2:16 p.m. — 400 block W. 20th St., a man reported that someone shot his pit bull and German shepherd with a BB gun. Police said the dogs were not visibly injured, and the suspects were not located.

4:19 p.m. — 5100 block Leavitt Road, a woman said a driver with road rage threatened to kill her after not allowing her to pass her vehicle on the road. She said the woman, who was driving a black Mazda, left after she called police.

5:20 p.m. — 700 block Parkview Ave., a woman said she parked her vehicle at Black River Landing during the International Festival Saturday and her driver’s-side rear panel was dented by what appeared a flathead screwdriver.
