The Lorain County Sheriff's Office will have extra deputies on the road during Super Bowl weekend, according to a news release.
The stepped-up enforcement is an effort to reduce alcohol-related crashes.
The Sheriff's Office received more than $46,000 from the federal government in conjunction with the state of Ohio to fund a series of enforcement blitzes during the holidays in 2011 and 2012.
The areas that will be targeted are state Route 2 and state Route 57, Grafton and Fuller roads and state Route 301 and state Route 303. These areas were selected because of prior incidents of alcohol- and accident-related violations.
