LORAIN — A 28-year-old man was killed in what police believe was a robbery or attempted robbery overnight. Police now have a second man in custody and are looking for just one more.
Jason Smith of Lorain was shot in a home at 511 W. 17th St. and died at Mercy Regional Medical Center, according to Sgt. Carpentiere.
Jeremy Brown, 21, of Lorain was taken into custody about 1 or 2 a.m. on Lorain Drive in Leavitt Homes, Carpentiere said. Aaron Rodriguez, 20, of Lorain, turned himself into police this afternoon, Carpentiere said.
Police are still looking for Donzelle Crosby, 20, of Lorain.
Carpentiere wouldn't say where on his body or how many times Smith was shot.
He said Brown was arrested without incident by narcotics detectives.
Anyone with information on the killing or Crosby's whereabouts is asked to call the Lorain police detective bureau at 204-2105.
Smith's homicide is Lorain's first in nearly seven months. The last was Damis Crawford, who was gunned down Aug. 13 in South Lorain, Carpentiere said.
