Man wanted by Lorain police is Marshals' fugitive of the week


A man wanted by Lorain police is the U.S. Marshals Service fugitive of the week this week.

David Derouin, 47, is wanted on charges of attempted rape. He is also wanted by the Cleveland Heights Police Department on charges of intimidation.

According to U.S. Marshals, Derouin was working with his victim, a 24-year-old mentally challenged man, at Erie Food Mart on East Erie Avenue in Lorain.

At the end of the work day, Derouin allegedly coerced his victim into drinking alcohol to the point the victim passed out. When his victim awoke he found himself undressed with Derouin partially naked on top of him, attempting to have sex with him.

Derouin 5-foot-10 and about 160 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos on his chest and left arm.

Derouin is homeless but had been living in a "tent city" in the 1600 block of Reid Avenue. Marshals believe Derouin fled Lorain and is hiding in the suburbs of Cleveland.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4WANTED. Reward money is available.
