WELLINGTON - A 15-year-old Wellington boy died Saturday after suffering complications from mononucleosis, according to the boy`s mother.
Danne R. Davison Jr. was a freshman at Firelands High School who enjoyed art, making movies and hanging out with friends, said his mother, Traci Davison.
She said her son was diagnosed with mononucleosis about a week ago, and he died suddenly Saturday at the family`s Betts Road home.
County Coroner Paul Matus said he hasn`t ruled on the cause of death.
However, his preliminary findings show that Danne died from consequences of a natural disease.
Matus said he has seen people die for various reasons related to mononucleosis before.
Mononucleosis, commonly known as "mono," includes symptoms such as persistent fever, headache, loss of appetite, rash, muscle aches and swollen lymph nodes and tonsils. It isn`t as contagious as some other infections, such as the common cold, according to the medical education and resource Web site
Arrangements for Danne will be announced by the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain.
