Shooting victim comes home

The Wellington preacher, who police say was shot by his son, has been released from the hospital.

Rev. Mark Petric, 45, was discharged from MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland Friday , according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Petric`s house on Peck Wadsworth Road in Brighton Township, where the bloody scene took place last month, was empty Tuesday morning and neighbors said they hadn`t seen him come home.

Police accuse 16-year-old Daniel Petric of shooting his father in the face and shooting his mother three times, in the shoulder, forearm and head. His mother, 43-year-old Sue Petric, died instantly.

Daniel remains in the county jail on a $1 million bond. He is waiting to be tried as an adult in county Common Pleas Court.

Mark Petric is a pastor at New Life Assembly of God on West Street.
