All's Wells for OSU in victory

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - There`s nothing like a victory over Michigan to cure what ails you if you`re a Buckeye.

Though Ohio State suffered a disappointing defeat to Illinois a week ago, the Buckeyes made the most of their last game of the regular season, beating archrival Michigan 14-3 in front of the second-largest crowd ever at Michigan Stadium (111,941).

It secured at least a spot in the Rose Bowl for Ohio State, which still has an outside shot at playing for the national title - a hope that appeared dashed after the loss last weekend.

But no matter what`s at stake, beating the Wolverines is always cause to celebrate if you wear the scarlet and gray.

And a victory over Michigan - OSU`s sixth in the last seven seasons - has been a common theme for the Buckeyes and their coach, Jim Tressel, who got a big game from their defense and the same from running back Chris Wells, who scored both Ohio State touchdowns, to beat the Wolverines for the fourth straight time - just the third time such a streak has happened.

That`s something every Buckeye can celebrate.

"It`s special for our kids," Tressel said. "This game means so much to them, and for them to be able to accomplish that is special for every kid that is part of any one of those four."
