ELYRIA — The condition of an Elyria man who was stuck by a train early Saturday is improving at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
Andre McGee was listed in serious condition, but a nurse at MetroHealth, where he was flown shortly after being struck, said he was doing much better.
A Norfolk Southern train conductor and engineer contacted police about 2:25 a.m. Saturday because they thought they might have hit someone wearing dark clothing near the Infirmary Road tracks, police said. When they stopped to investigate near the West Avenue railroad bridge, they found McGee, 34, under the train.
He suffered severe trauma, including fractures to his arm and left leg, according to medical personnel at the scene. Police are still investigating the incident.
