LORAIN — A Lorain man said he was assaulted by a group of 20 to 30 teenagers who were shouting gang slogans at him as they beat and kicked him, a Lorain police report said.
The man suffered heavy swelling to his eye and lips, as well as injuries to his arms and legs, the report said.
The victim said he was walking on West 24th Street about 11:45 p.m. June 9 when 20 to 30 boys, ages 15 to 18, approached him near Oakdale Avenue and jumped him for no apparent reason, the report said.
As the boys assaulted him they chanted, “M-O-B, M-O-B!” the initials of a gang that police say is to blame for graffiti and other crimes.
The man told police he wasn’t able to defend himself because of the number of assailants, but he eventually got to his feet and ran away, the report said.
