Debbie (Frabotta) Tomasheski will be recommended to be Midview’s volleyball coach at the next Board of Education meeting March 28, according to a press release from Midview Athletics.

Tomasheski, who has served the program in a variety of roles over the last decade, takes over for Lindsey Groomes, who resigned in January after three years as the Middies coach.

“I am excited to welcome Deb as the new leader of Midview volleyball,” Athletics Director Dan May said. “Her passion for Midview and its athletic programs is well-known throughout the community. She is also a highly-respected volleyball coach who is ready to take over her own program.”

Tomasheski was the assistant varsity coach at Midview for five seasons, beginning in 2009. Most recently, she was an assistant coach with the seventh grade team, helping to develop the new wave of Middie volleyball talent.

Tomasheski is currently an assistant coach for the Cleveland Volleyball Company’s 13 Blue team. She is also an educational monitor at Midview High School. A 1998 graduate of Willoughby South High School, she lives in Valley City with her husband, Tom, sons Alex and Sam and stepdaughter, Danielle.

“I am excited and ready for this opportunity,” Tomasheski said. “I love Midview volleyball and hope to bring unity as we work hard to achieve our program goals.”

Midview volleyball opens its 2018 season at Medina on Aug. 18.
