Emelie Ojukwu has arrived in Washington D.C. and is ready to represent Lorain County in this year’s Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Ojukwu and his family arrived Monday in the nation’s capital, and after registration, planned to attend a Memorial Day picnic for the spellers. Ojukwu, representing First Baptist Christian School, will take the written test today for the 90th annual Scripps National Spelling Bee. Oral rounds will be Wednesday and Thursday, with the finals Thursday, televised on ESPN channels.
