Multiple Breed Rescue

Lance is available for adoption from Multiple Breed Rescue.

Lance found himself at MBR after his owner passed away. He is a little unsure of new people at first, but he seems to come around once he knows he is safe. Lance is housebroken and crate-trained; he comes when he’s called and has learned to sit on command.

Lance is very sweet and very loving. He prefers to sleep under blankets if given the choice. He occasionally plays with toys but generally is happy to sit with you and get belly rubs. He is considered dog friendly but would do best as an only dog, as he is protective of “his person.” While he has improved in his reaction to the dogs he lives with in his foster home, he does not like to be caught off guard by them if he is asleep and they jump and scare him.

Lance is considered “special needs” because he has diabetes and requires insulin shots twice a day. His vision is somewhat limited in one eye from cataracts, but he navigates fine and plays with his toys and friends without issue. Lance is on a fairly rigid feeding schedule so he can receive his insulin safely. With this being said, do not let Lance’s medical condition stop you from meeting him! Everything that he needs related to the diabetes costs less than $20 a month. He is very, very sweet and has so much love to give. He does not act sick or old, and with proper care, dogs with diabetes can live normal lives just as long as other dogs.

Queenie is available for adoption from Multiple Breed Rescue.

Meet Queenie! This young lady has lots of energy and love. Queenie’s hobbies include playing fetch, running through the back yard, long walks, and excited snuggles. Queenie loves attention. She happily climbs into laps for cuddles, and enjoys being around her people, both in the house and outside. She will be a great dog for an active owner or family, and can’t wait to meet her forever family!

Queenie is crate-trained, and mostly house-trained. She sometimes gets caught up in playing with her foster fur sister, and forgets to ask to go outside. She knows sit and off, and is working on other commands. She can be left off leash at her foster home as long as someone keeps an eye on her, and she knows to come back when called as long as there isn’t a bunny to chase. She would do best with a fenced-in yard because of her love of running, although that isn’t required. She is great with dogs of all sizes, however her high energy may make her a better companion to a dog who is ready to play as much as she is. She is great with kids; her larger size and love of life means she may occasionally knock them over. Queenie is doing fine with the cat in her foster home.

Queenie’s life before rescue wasn’t so happy, even if she is still full of love for people. She was brought into an emergency vet by her owner who said she left her tied up outside while she went to work. When she came back 8 hours later, something had attacked Queenie. There were lacerations across her face and foot, and her eye needed removed. The owner couldn’t afford to pay for the emergency surgery, so the vet office called us. Her owner surrendered her so that she could get the medical attention she so desperately needed. Queenie was so starved for attention that we believe she spent way more time on a chain outside then she did in a house. In addition, she is nervous around men that she doesn’t know, and takes some time to warm up to them. She barks and backs up when they approach her. In her foster home, it took Queenie about four days to start to trust the male, and before the end of the second week, she was climbing into his lap, giving him kisses, and taking him toys to play with.

She is truly becoming a different dog than what she was when we first brought her into the rescue, and we are so excited to watch her continue to blossom. Queenie needs a family who will understand her special circumstances, and will work with her to improve her trust in men and her confidence in herself. A family or owner with previous dog experience is preferred. If you think you could be Queenie’s happily-ever-after, fairy tale ending, please send us your application! Queenie is looking forward to meeting you!

Monte is available for adoption from Multiple Breed Rescue.

This green-eyed beauty is Monte! She is a great all-around dog! Monte was returned to MBR at no fault of hers but due to divorce. She is great with kids and other dogs. She is not cat aggressive, but she is curious. She is a large dog and has an even bigger heart.

Monte enjoys lying on the couch, cuddling with her human and also likes a nice stroll outside or at a park. She is extremely laidback and would do great in just about any household. Due to her size, Monte has gone through training and knows basic commands such as come, down and bed. She walks great on a leash without pulling. She is house-trained and crate-trained but is a bit anxious in her crate, which we are working on with her. Monte will be your furever sidekick and love you with all of her being.
