Lacey was recently adopted and returned because she played too rough with the kids in the family. She still has lots of puppy traits and is in need of training. She is house trained. This cute pup is a very affectionate dog. She snuggles and sleeps with her owners but they state she is very stubborn (like most hounds). Lacey would thrive with a family that has older/teenage children and the time, patience and space to work with this loveable active hound. If you've had hounds before and liked them, you'll love Lacey.
Here's a little bit about coonhounds: "English coonhounds are generally good natured and very sociable dogs. They are strong willed, if not stubborn, and require more patience in training than other breeds. Young dogs are usually extremely active and playful and desirous of human attention in addition to requiring plenty of exercise. English coonhounds are incessant nesters and should be avoided by people who do not wish to have dogs on couches and beds. They make excellent family pets as they have been bred for hunting purposes to coexist amiably within a pack."
If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.
