ELYRIA — Police recently cited clerks at two businesses with allegedly selling alcohol to minors during an undercover operation aimed at policing illegal alcohol sales.

Christopher Doehr, 37, a clerk at C Supermarket at 1227 Lake Ave., and Brittany Chapman, 30, a clerk at Nick’s Drive Thru at 259 Oberlin Road, were cited June 6 with one count each of furnishing alcohol to minors, both first-degree misdemeanors.

Copies of the incident reports were forwarded to the Ohio Department of Liquor Control for review, which could affect the liquor licenses held by the businesses.

Businesses with clerks who refused to sell alcohol to underage undercover shoppers during the operation and were commended by police for following the law, included DM Mart on Lake Avenue, GAS USA on Middle Avenue and Hanini’s at East Avenue and George Street.
